Dear Church Family

A Legacy is defined as “something handed down from one period of time to another period of time.” God has been faithfully blessing and using North Ridge Community Church the last 10 years to reignite the faith of many families that have been disconnected from Jesus and the church. The Legacy of Faith that God has started in your Family is one that we desire to see happen for other families for a long time into the Future. God values people and makes them our most important purpose and passion. People matter to God and therefore they matter to us. The Quad Cities were recently ranked #27 on the top churchless cities in America. Close to 80% of the people in the communities around us are disconnected from Jesus and the church. We believe we have been uniquely positioned by God to leave a great Legacy for Him in Eastern Iowa by continuing to be faithful to God’s call to help people trust and follow Jesus and connecting them into community with Jesus and each other in the spiritual family, the Church. In order to leave a Legacy for Jesus, we feel the next step of Faith for our spiritual Family at North Ridge is to reach Future families in our community by purchasing the Sport’s Town building and property. We invite you to look through the purpose and vision of the Legacy campaign below and then join with us in praying and asking God how you are called to help financially so we can create a great Legacy of Faith for Families now and in the Future.

Sincerely,

Pastor Doug

The Purpose for the Legacy campaign is simple: Grow God’s Kingdom by purchasing the facility and property and renovate it into a more permanent place to call home.

  • The facility is located in the perfect place for our vision of being a hub for multiplication and planting other churches in Eastern Iowa to reach more people for Jesus.
  • It secures a consistent worship and ministry location for years to come, removing the concerns of renewing a lease or finding a new location.
  • A permanent place that we can call home sends a message to our community that we are a viable church that plans to do ministry and have a major influence on the community far into the future.
  • Renovations in the worship space will relieve ministry volunteers of set-up and take down responsibilities and release them to help in other ministries.
  • Renovations will provide a better space for youth ministry.
  • The 9.8 acres of property allows enough space for future expansion.

How you can participate

in legacy

PRAY: Legacy is about investing in the mission of reaching people for Jesus and helping

them grow in their relationship with Him. It is a step of faith to help others become people

of faith. Faith should always challenge us to rely on God to move and act in His goodness

and faithfulness. Join us in praying for an amazing movement of God.

INVITE: Legacy is all about inviting people into the spiritual family of God. Being faithful

stewards of the gifts and resources God has given us allows us to influence many families

in our communities for God. We desire to be a church that creates a Legacy that reaches

generations of families for Jesus.

GIVE: Legacy is about sacrificial giving. When we give sacrificially we model the Legacy of

Jesus who gave His life as the ultimate sacrifice so we could have eternal life. When we give

sacrificially, God will build His Legacy in ways we never dreamed possible.

Creative Giving

Want to be involved but not sure how? Are you enthusiastic about giving to this vision, but not sure where to start? Here are some creative ways to help allocate or free up resources so you can be a part of our Legacy.

  • Decrease

Are there things in your life you can take advantage of less frequently? Maybe it’s fewer coffee shop visits or one less dinner out each week. Find ways to reduce your current budget in order to give. By decreasing a weekly or monthly expense, regardless of what it might be, you can save a significant amount to contribute.

  • Donate

In addition to cash donations, another great way to contribute is to give existing assets; such as stocks, bonds, or real estate. Please consult with your tax advisor to determine eligibility for tax deductions, and contact our financial leaders through the church office at 563-285-7819 to discuss. North Ridge Community Church is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

  • Delay

Are there plans you might be making that involve a financial commitment? If so, prayerfully ask God about delaying those plans and using the extra income to contribute.

  • HOw Much Should I Give

That’s between you and God, but we are asking everyone to make a significant sacrifice. It’s not about giving equal amounts, it’s about making an equal sacrifice. The gift amounts will be different, but the amount of sacrifice should be the same.
