Detailed Rules

  1. Teams are made up of no more than 8 people.
  2. There will be 10 rounds or 10 questions in 10 categories.  This makes 100 questions.  Each question is worth 1 point
  3. Your team will have approximately 30 seconds to answer each question (give or take) before we move on to the next question.  The question will be displayed on the screen for the duration of the 30 seconds.  No questions will be repeated so we can keep the night moving forward.
  4. Each table has 10 answer sheets.  That is 1 answer sheet for each round.  At the end of each round you will have 90 seconds to review your sheet and hand it in.  At the end of round 1 you will predict your team's final score and write it down in the space provided on your sheet.  This will be used as a tie breaker if needed.
  5. Before Round 1 your team will have the option of purchasing a sheet of 10 mulligans for $20.  You may use them until they are gone.  Your team may only purchase 1 sheet of 10 and use no more than 10 total. You may use as many mulligans in a round as you deem necessary, however, you only get 10 total, so use them wisely.
  6. All submissions are considered final; once your answer sheet has been turned in you will be unable to retrieve your sheet. Only one answer per question will be accepted and it will be the first one listed that will be counted.
  7. Cell phones are not permitted during play.  If you must take an emergency call or text message you are required to leave the room and you may not return until the end of the round.
  8. If you have a team member coming late, they must wait until we are between rounds to come to the table.
  9. Players MUST NOT call out the answer. Answering loudly to your teammates is considered the same. Please keep your answers quiet so that only your table can hear them.  There are index cards on each table that can be used for note taking and/or communicating.
  10. Between each round, after the answer sheets have been handed in, the answers will be read out loud.  When scores have been compiled, they will be shown on the screen.
  11. The object of the game is not to give us the correct answer but to give us the answer that is provided to the judges. That's just a fancy way of saying: this isn't an IQ test; it's a trivia game. For example, don't submit Gordon Sumner instead of Sting. Of course we'll forgive insignificant mistakes (i.e. spelling errors); please forgive us ours.
  12. Between some rounds there will be an optional competition for a chance to win additional prizes. Sign yourself up OR better yet - sign up that one person at your table that...you know the one.
  13. HAVE FUN!  Be aware that those around you are trying to have fun and fun is the goal. Yes, fun is even more important than winning
